High-Dose Vitamin C IV and HBOT — Before or After?

Which comes first — and why the order matters

Both Vitamin C IV therapy and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) play vital roles in cellular repair, metabolic flexibility and mitochondrial optimisation. While some clients stack these therapies for general wellness or longevity, the majority of Studio2 clients are following metabolic-based cancer protocols that use higher-dose scripted Vitamin C infusions within a press-and-pulse approach to target cancer metabolism.

Understanding the Two Therapies

Vitamin C IV Therapy
Delivers a concentrated infusion of Vitamin C directly into the bloodstream, bypassing digestive absorption limits.

  • At lower doses, it functions as a powerful antioxidant — supporting collagen formation, immune health, and detoxification.

  • At much higher scripted doses, Vitamin C can take on a pro-oxidant role to selectively weaken abnormal or metabolically stressed cells while supporting healthy tissue repair.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Involves breathing heightened oxygen levels under pressure, enhancing tissue perfusion, mitochondrial efficiency and recovery capacity. Within metabolic cancer care, HBOT can help disrupt tumour hypoxia, making cells more vulnerable to oxidative therapies like high-dose Vitamin C, ozone or methylene blue.

Studio2’s Preferred Flow: HBOT First

At Studio2, our preferred sequence is to complete Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy before Vitamin C IV Therapy. This order is based on both physiological rationale and practical comfort:

  • Cellular Priming: HBOT saturates the body with oxygen, improving circulation and mitochondrial function. This primes cells to better utilise and absorb Vitamin C when it’s administered afterward.

  • Enhanced Effectiveness: Oxygen therapy triggers mild oxidative stress, which helps the body activate repair pathways. Following with Vitamin C provides the antioxidants and nutrients needed to complete the repair phase and neutralise excess free radicals.

  • Client Comfort: After a Vitamin C infusion, the body holds a significant volume of saline. A HBOT session can last anywhere from 60-90minutes…say no more 💧💧💧 Doing HBOT first avoids the need for the bathroom and allows clients to relax fully during both sessions.

For these reasons, HBOT → Vitamin C IV remains our preferred and most effective sequence — especially for clients on metabolic or cancer protocols, where timing and cellular readiness are critical to outcomes.
