FAQs

What is a Hyperbaric Chamber?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is a non-invasive wellness modality where clients relax in a pressurised chamber whilst breathing in up to 97% pure oxygen in one of our hard chambers.

What to expect?

Your session will last for 60 to 90 minutes (or longer should you request) in our hard chamber with pressure from 1.3 to 2ata. During your time in the chamber you may like to enjoy one of our guided meditation offerings, take care of some personal admin, focus on stretching out your body. Our personal favourite is to just…. rest your mind and body to maximise the benefits this restorative time.

Is my session space private?

We have created an environment where you will be able to enjoy the spacious and beautiful, private rooms before and after your session.

Can I bring a friend?

Time in the chamber is to prioritise your own self care and is generally not a shared experience (with the exception of children and their parents who are required to be in the chamber). There is an option to book out two chambers at once if you would like a shared experience. Please contact us directly to arrange this.

How often?

HBOT is a cumulative therapy, so the benefits are built over time as blood oxygen saturation builds. Each persons capacity to invest in their sessions will be individual. Please talk to us to discuss a custom protocol depending on your particular scenario.

Who is HBOT for?

Oxygen therapy has multiple benefits for a wide variety of people. This non-invasive treatment can be beneficial to anyone looking to obtain better overall health, clarity and wellness, particularly those experiencing lifestyle stressors, sleep deprivation, system inflammation and a multitude of acute and/or systemic issues.

HBOT reduces swelling and inflammation to assist with recovery from post workouts and soft tissue injury repair so, not surprisingly, HBOT has become a popular recovery tool for athletes.

Who is HBOT NOT for?

Whilst most people can use HBOT, there are some contraindications. Please do not proceed without consultation should you have any of the following:

Ear Health & Safety in HBOT

During hyperbaric oxygen therapy, changes in pressure mean that your ears, much like when flying or diving, need to adjust or "equalise." Most people manage this easily with simple techniques like swallowing or yawning, but for some, it can take a little extra time or is just not possible.

Whilst rare, discomfort and issues equalising can carry some risks and may be a barrier to HBOT. Our staff will guide you gently through the process, adjust the pressurisation rate/level appropriately and if needed, pause or modify the session however, please consult with a practitioner should you have any concerns about your ability to equalise.

What should I wear and bring?

Just bring yourself and wear something cotton/linen or natural fibres that you feel comfortable to lie down in for the duration.
