Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Hyperbaric Chamber?
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive wellness treatment. Clients relax inside one of our hard chambers while breathing up to 97% pure oxygen under controlled pressurisation.
What should I expect during a session?
Each session lasts 60–90 minutes (longer if requested) in a chamber pressurised between 1.3 and 2.0 ATA. During this time, you may:
Listen to one of our guided meditations
Catch up on light personal tasks
Stretch and unwind physically
Or simply rest deeply — our favourite way to maximise the restorative benefits.
Is my space private?
Yes. You’ll have access to a spacious, private room before and after your session, allowing you to fully relax in your own environment.
Can I bring a friend?
HBOT is usually an individual experience to prioritise self-care. The exception is for children, who must be accompanied by a parent. If you’d like to enjoy HBOT alongside someone else, you can arrange to book two chambers at the same time. Please contact us to coordinate.
How often should I do HBOT?
HBOT is cumulative — benefits build as oxygen saturation in the blood increases over time. The ideal frequency depends on your personal goals, health status, and lifestyle. We’ll work with you to create a tailored plan to suit your needs.
Who is HBOT for?
HBOT has a wide range of wellness benefits and may support:
General health, energy, and mental clarity
Recovery from lifestyle stressors and sleep deprivation
Reduction of systemic inflammation
Recovery from workouts, soft tissue injuries, or surgery
It is increasingly popular with athletes for performance and recovery, as well as those seeking long-term vitality and wellness support.
Who should not use HBOT?
While HBOT is safe for most people, there are some conditions that may make it unsuitable without prior medical consultation. Please avoid HBOT if you have:
Infectious illness (colds, flu, respiratory infection, fever)
Difficulty equalising ear pressure (Eustachian tube dysfunction)
Sinus issues
History of eye conditions or recent eye surgery
Pneumothorax (collapsed lung)
Unmanaged high blood pressure or heart conditions
Severe COPD or untreated asthma
Recent major dental work
Pacemaker
Seizure disorders
Pregnancy
Recent air travel (within 24 hours)
Recent Botox or filler treatments
Certain chemotherapy or radiation protocols
If you’re unsure, please consult with your healthcare provider before booking.
Ear Health & Safety in HBOT
Because HBOT involves changes in pressure, your ears (just like when flying or diving) need to adjust or “equalise.” Most people do this easily with techniques like swallowing or yawning. For others, it may take longer or may not be possible.
While uncommon, difficulty equalising can cause discomfort and, in rare cases, complications. Our team will guide you through the process, slow or pause pressurisation if needed, and adjust your session to keep you safe. If you have concerns about your ability to equalise, we recommend seeking medical advice before starting HBOT.
What should I wear and bring?
Simply wear comfortable clothing made from natural fibres (cotton, linen, etc.) that you can relax in while lying down. There’s no need to bring anything else — just yourself and an open mind to rest, recover, and reset.
