HBOT & Cancer Support
Supporting people navigating cancer care with considered, individualised Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.
Working alongside clients, their medical teams and integrative practitioners to consider where HBOT may appropriately fit within their broader care — including practitioner-led metabolic approaches to cancer support, chemo and radiation..
A considered approach to HBOT during cancer care
Cancer care can involve chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and other treatments, often alongside multiple practitioners and supportive therapies. At Studio2, our focus is not on treating the cancer itself, but on supporting the individual and their broader physiological terrain throughout their cancer journey.
We have a particular interest in working collaboratively with integrative practitioners using metabolic approaches to cancer care, including practitioner-led Press-Pulse strategies, where HBOT may be considered as one component of a much broader approach.
Individualisation and timing matter. When someone is undergoing chemotherapy, we consider their specific chemotherapy agents, dosage and treatment schedule when determining whether and when HBOT may appropriately fit around their care. Radiation requires the same considered approach, taking into account the treatment being delivered and its timing.
Our aim is to provide thoughtful, individualised HBOT support that works within the context of the client’s existing treatment and practitioner-led strategy — with the focus on supporting the person, their recovery and overall terrain.
Supporting the Terrain, Not Treating the Cancer
Our approach to HBOT within cancer care is centred on supporting the person and their physiological terrain, rather than positioning HBOT as a treatment for the cancer itself.
Cancer and its treatment can place significant demands on the body. Within an appropriately guided care plan, HBOT may be considered as a supportive modality aimed at improving oxygen availability and supporting cellular energy production, tissue health, recovery and healthy inflammatory responses.
This is also why we have a particular interest in metabolic approaches to cancer care. When a client is working with an integrative practitioner using a metabolic or Press-Pulse strategy, we can work collaboratively to consider where HBOT may appropriately sit within that broader plan.
The treatment of the cancer remains with the client’s oncology and healthcare team. Our role is to support the person navigating it.
Understanding the Press-Pulse Approach
The Press-Pulse approach is a metabolic framework for cancer management that explores ways of placing sustained and intermittent metabolic pressure on cancer cells, while supporting the health and resilience of normal cells. The “press” refers to longer-term strategies designed to influence the metabolic environment. These may include nutritional and lifestyle interventions and other strategies directed by the client’s practitioner. The “pulse” refers to interventions introduced strategically at particular times. Within the published Press-Pulse framework, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been proposed as one potential pulse intervention. (PubMed Central (PMC))
At Studio2, we don’t direct a client’s metabolic cancer protocol. Our role is to work alongside the client and their practitioner to understand the broader strategy and consider where HBOT may appropriately fit within it.This is where timing, pressure and frequency become particularly important. HBOT isn’t considered in isolation — we look at what else the client is doing, including chemotherapy, radiation and other therapies, and the timing of those treatments. The aim is a coordinated approach: supporting the individual and their physiological terrain while working within their broader practitioner-led care plan.
HBOT Alongside Chemotherapy & Radiation
When someone is undergoing chemotherapy or radiation, the use and timing of HBOT requires careful consideration. Cancer treatment is not one-size-fits-all — and neither is the way we approach HBOT alongside it.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy protocols can differ significantly. The specific agent or combination of agents, dosage, treatment cycle and timing all matter when considering whether and where HBOT may appropriately fit.
At Studio2, we look at the client’s individual treatment schedule rather than applying a standard protocol. Where appropriate, we work alongside their treating team or integrative practitioner so that HBOT is considered within the context of their broader care.
Radiation
Radiation requires the same individualised approach. The treatment area, course of radiation, timing and reason HBOT is being considered can all influence how it may be incorporated.
HBOT also has an established clinical role in certain delayed radiation tissue injuries, which is distinct from using HBOT as supportive care while someone is actively undergoing cancer treatment.
Our focus is not on using HBOT to increase the efficacy of chemotherapy or radiation. Our focus is terrain support — supporting the individual, their recovery and physiological resilience while they navigate treatment.
Supporting the Journey
Cancer can bring pressures that extend far beyond treatment itself. We understand that the ongoing costs associated with appointments, therapies and supportive care can add another layer of stress during an already challenging time.
At Studio2, support has always been at the heart of what we do. For clients navigating cancer care who may benefit from more regular HBOT, we offer reduced cancer-support rates to help make ongoing sessions more accessible and ease some of the financial burden that can accompany a longer health journey.
For us, it is about more than providing access to a hyperbaric chamber. It is about creating a place where people feel supported and genuinely cared for on the journey.

Working With You & Your Practitioner
We welcome collaboration with the healthcare practitioners involved in your care.
If you are working with an oncologist, integrative doctor, naturopath, nutritionist or other practitioner, we can work within your existing care plan. For those following a practitioner-led metabolic or Press-Pulse approach, we welcome the opportunity to understand the broader strategy and consider how HBOT may appropriately fit within it.
Already working with a practitioner? We welcome practitioner referrals and are happy to discuss your individual circumstances before commencing HBOT.
